About Payment Plans

What is a payment plan?

A payment plan allows you to repay overdue levies in instalments, usually over a period of up to 12 months.

For NSW properties under Section 85 of the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 and Section 18 of the Strata Schemes Management Regulation 2016, owners have the right to apply for a payment plan when levy contributions are in arrears.

Do I still need to pay future levies?

Yes. A payment plan only covers overdue levies. Any new levies issued must still be paid in full and on time.

How long do I have to repay?

Most plans run for up to 12 months. If you need more time, you can request another plan, but it will need to be approved at a general meeting of the Owners Corporation/Body Corporate.

Will I be charged interest?

Interest may be charged on overdue levies. The Owners Corporation/Body Corporate can decide at a general meeting to reduce or waive this interest.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If you miss a payment, your plan may be reviewed and could be cancelled. In that case, the Owners Corporation/Body Corporate may continue with normal debt recovery.

How do I apply?

  1. Complete the form based on the state your property is located.
  2. The Owners Corporation/Body Corporate will review your request.
  3. If approved, you’ll receive:
    • A repayment schedule
    • Payment instructions
    • Contact details of the committee representative or strata manager handling your payment plan
